Henleaze personal trainers

August is here and our team of Henleaze personal trainers are being asked to share top tips for holiday fitness tips by clients their taking annual breaks at home and abroad.

Our Henleaze personal trainers advise clients that when on holiday, fitness should still be a focal part of their break.

Some of our top tips for holiday fitness tips include:

HYDRATION

When in the sun on holiday, dehydration can cause problems for clients.

Sweating, sunbathing, different and new activities, drinking alcohol and consuming more sugary food than usual can cause hydration issues.

Carrying water with you every day on your August holiday and consuming a minimum of 2.5 litres a day is the best way to combat potential dehydration.

ACTIVATION

Many of our clients are used to exercising and training three to four times per week, or more. Going on holiday doesn’t mean they stop activating your fitness.

Some clients use gym equipment at their hotel or within their resort, go for morning runs, long swimming sessions, and holiday hikes are all great.

Pool time, sea swimming and beach games, taking stairs wherever possible, walking more and being out in the fresh air and sunshine are all beneficial.

If you do want to work out while on holiday this Summer, try in the mornings before the day’s heat gets too intense. It may be a 45-minute gym session or a gentle walk and stretch.

NUTRITION

Our Henleaze personal trainers recommend that clients purchase local fruit and vegetables during their holidays.

Buying delicious, local, fresh food when abroad is a massive treat, and eating new, exciting, and nutritious natural foods on holiday is a fantastic way to boost your holiday fitness experience.

If you’re on holiday this August and reading this, and are thinking about getting a Henleaze personal trainer when you get back to Bristol, the team at Active8 can help you.
