This week, we’re catching up with an Active8 client who has been using the MyZone App, calling it “a fantastic tool for my personal fitness training in Bristol.”
Mark Wagstaffe has been a client with Active8 for five years and has worked closely with Senior Trainer and business founder Shane Cook throughout.
We spoke to Mark to find out more about how MyZone is helping him.
How did you come across the MyZone tool?
“Shane recommended it to me, and I’ve been really impressed so far. It is both motivating and fun, as well as providing a focus for personal fitness.”
When did you start using MyZone as part of your fitness regime?
“I started using MyZone during the first Covid-19 in 2020, and it’s been an integral part of my routine ever since. I go to Active8 once per week and buddy up with a friend for training.”
What benefits have you noticed since using MyZone?
“I’m active and play tennis and hockey outside of my Active8 training, although I do have a desk-based job in Bristol. My main focus in training was to work on strength and conditioning, while MyZone sets really useful new exercises.”
“MyZone is a great way to keep in touch with others who are using it as well. It provides additional motivation, as well as social and competitive elements.”
How do you gauge if MyZone is helping your fitness training?
“MyZone shows you how hard you are training and for how long. It is really easy to use. I also use it when on my Peloton as it links up with the heart rate monitor. I use it for training in the Active8 gym, and when playing hockey.”
What changes have you seen since using MyZone?
“It pushes me a little bit harder during training while being cost-effective and simple to use. It’s a great personal fitness tool, and has made me think more about heart rate training in the last two years.”
Is there anything else you’d like to add?
“I’m not particularly driven by social media, and the MyZone tool delivers a competitive element without it being on show across the world. I can connect with others using it, and Shane uses it to promote regular competitions which benefits everyone as clients.”
